Is Spring really coming? Even though it keeps snowing?!!

It seems that perhaps it is!  We have had the snowiest winter here in 35 years!!  And it just doesn't want to end.  We will have a couple of nice days, then boom - snow - grey - cold - yuck!  In spite of this, nature seems to believe it will happen and is acting accordingly!  (except for letting it snow that is!)

 

And the forest is full of greenery as well....

 

Another true sign of spring is the return of the turkey vultures.  They are back in droves!!  Every time I am out scanning the sky for eagles and hawks, I am sure to see a ton of these!

 

On the birding front, another interesting bird was this Norther Shoveler.  I spotted him with a group of mallards in Gibbons park.  

What an interesting looking bird!  Since I have started birding, I have discovered just how many really interesting types of ducks there are!!
