Sifton Bog

Sifton bog is (from the website) "The main feature of this 40-ha public site is the floating acid peat bog and associated boreal plant life. Deciduous swamp and upland forest surround the bog, providing a sharp contrast between the northern (boreal) and southern (Carolinian) vegetation types."

I had never been before, which is hard to believe, but I will be going back!!

As soon as you squish on the peat off of the boardwalk you can see that it's floating!

It is almost surreal in here..

This boardwalk is the only way through.  The water was right up to it when we were there.  It must be underwater for a while in the spring!

The water was so still it was like an optical illusion!
